Friends of Barnstable Harbor: A Webflow Home for a Conservation Community

A Cape Cod conservation nonprofit moved to Webflow with a full rebuild — new architecture, a brand-driven design system, CMS-powered resources, and an editor the organization can run itself.

The challenge

Friends of Barnstable Harbor exists to protect one of Cape Cod's great natural places — but its website couldn't keep up with the organization. Updating content meant depending on outside help, the site structure didn't reflect the breadth of the mission, and there was no good home for the resources, wildlife content, and working-waterfront stories the organization wanted to share.

The approach

Great Harbor Digital rebuilt the site on Webflow from the ground up. The project started with structure: a restructured sitemap and page architecture that gives conservation work, wildlife, the working waterfront, and ways to get involved each a proper home. A design system built on the organization's brand keeps every page consistent, while a mega menu makes the deeper structure navigable. Key features were built as CMS-driven templates — including a resources library and an interactive harbor map — with a homepage anchored by video of the harbor itself, and donation payments integrated into the site.

The results

Moving to Webflow unlocked the organization. Staff and volunteers can now update pages, publish resources, and grow the site themselves through Webflow's editor — no developer required for everyday changes. The site finally works as what it was always meant to be: a living home for the harbor's conservation community, one the organization can build on for years.
